Our Fantastic Week at School!

Room 38 had a fantastic week at school. We wrote "Free Verse" poems about animals and were AMAZED that you could make the poem look however you wanted. Our class poem was called "Walter the Fat Penguin".

                                        

                                        Walter the 

FAT penguin

had some seals over for dinner.

The seals and Walter each ate 27 fish.

After they had the fish,

the seals were still hungry

and chased Walter.

On Thursday, we read stories about the Arctic sky. We looked at the different colours of the sky and how the sky changes. We then made water-colour paintings to show the colours of the Arctic sky. 

In the afternoon, we had Michael ManyEagles come to our school and he showed us how to make soap stone carvings. We made arrows. It was a messy job but it was so much fun!

 On Friday, we finished our paintings and continued working on our penguin centres from last week. In the afternoon, our class had the opportunity to do some aboriginal dancing with dancers from the Aboriginal School of Dance. Mrs. Pilat took some video of Mackenzee, Luciano and Brook-lynn dancing with hoops. Unfortunately, the video wouldn't upload into our blog. 

What a FANTASTIC week at school!
