Hands on Learning About Aboriginal Cultures

Mrs. Pilat brought in a box that was made out of a bison hide. The box contained lots of body parts of a bison. Such as, foot bones, a bladder, a tail, horns, hooves, rawhide, hair, teeth and a hide.
Nate was surprised that the bladder was so big. David was excited to touch the bladder. Luciano was MORE excited than David to touch the bladder. Braeden was MORE EXCITED than ANYONE to touch the bladder. Aryanna felt weird touching the bison foot bones. Gerri was excited to touch the tail. Jasmyn thought the tail was cool. Alex liked touching the horns.
Mrs. McGurry came into our class and we made Talking Sticks with her. She brought supplies such as stickers, yarn, beads, sticks and feathers for us to make the sticks. Only the person that is holding the stick can talk. Mrs. McGurry also brought in Story
Vines.  We wrote about what we learned in our "All About Canada" books when we were done.
