 A Journey to Egypt!

This week we took an airplane to Egypt and explored a tomb. Of course, this was an imaginary trip that we took with our Integrated Arts Artist, Tibert. We imagined we were archaeologists and historians preparing for an adventure to Cairo. We started off going on an airplane but we had to use our arms for wings. We landed in Cairo and went to Giza. We climbed down into a tomb and discovered a sarcophagus, hieroglyphics and a mummy. It was a fun adventure.

Today, we made a map of Egypt using cardboard, sand, glitter, stencils, tissue paper, construction paper, glue, tape and scissors. The sand was the Sahara Desert, the glitter was papyrus, the blue paper was the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea, the tissue paper is the Nile and the construction paper was turned into pyramids. It was a MESSY activity! Nate thought this activity was REALLY FUN! Dylan thought the hardest parts were the signs and the sand. Luciano thought the activity was good and fun. David said it was tiring because it made a big mess and we had to clean it up.
