This week, we played a math game on the Smart Board. We had to compare two numbers to see which number was the biggest. We made sure the smaller number ate the bigger number. YUM!
It was fun!

Room 38 Goes Around the World!

This week, we went to the Netherlands, Israel and Italy to discover how people there celebrate holidays.
In the Netherlands, Sinterklass handed out presents on December 5th. People decorated their houses with lights and wooden shoes.
In Israel and in other countries, Jewish people celebrate Hanukkah. It lasts for 8 days and people light Menorahs. We played a dreidel game and watched some videos about Hanukkah.

In Italy, La Befana, a witch, visits houses and gives good kids presents through the chimney. Bad kids get coal. People decorate their homes with flowers and have Nativity displays. We made La Befana broomsticks in class.
